Spatial distribution of outdoor thermal human comfort in the UAE

This study analyzed the thermal comfort in arid-desert climate of United Arab Emirates based on Discomfort Index (DI) and Universal Thermal Climate (UTCI) method. For this purpose, average monthly meteorological data including temperature, wind speed relative humidity were obtained from three stations (Abu Dhabi, Dubai Al Ain) during (1980-2018) period. The result indicated that highest value DI UTCI Abu Dhabi August, with 37.7°C 59.2°C respectively. values indicating strong heat stress found period April to November months. Discomfortable is very dangerous April, while State medical emergency May October. Ain has a lower number comfortable months both indexes, for which winter are areas. one first countries concerned change trying limit its future impacts.
